The Lord began to escort me through teachings of His character, challenging me in all that I had always been taught to believe. He was showing me that there was so much MORE to Him than what I had seen in churches forever, in peers, etc. His power is so surmounting and beyond my imagination, and on monday night God released the word, "freedom" from my lips. It was strange because I didn't seem to have any weighty sin that was pulling on my heart strings, yet that word was lingering on my lips all day. While I was spending time with the Father that night, freedom was the only thing I could think to say to the Lord. It was so crystal clear to me, God had been trying to set me free from sheltered vision of His face. I had been longing to see Him manifest Himself in new ways, yet my vision of the Lord had been so long built as a balanced view of His majesty and not a full-on, totally crazy adoration and devotion to My Savior.
So, throughout this week, God has continued to show me more of Him. Whether it be in His word, or in the character of His creation by way of the outside world. I began to see His Kingdom within this kingdom of darkness that surrounds us. In Matthew 9, Jesus tells us that "the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand". We are not merely waiting for God to bring about His Kingdom in His glorious return, but His Kingdom is at hand, right now, right this second, all around us. As children of the Living God, we must begin to change the way we view things from the eyes of man to the way God sees them. To stop focusing our attention on the foolish things of this world, we are new creation, we have been adopted into the family of God, and in His family there is no room for complacency and boredom, but rather power, hope, love, and grace.
Psalm 68:1 says, "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered." I heard this passage preached on by Thommy Green this morning and it brought a new meaning to my outlook on living within the kingdom of darkness, yet being from a totally different Kingdom, the Kingdom of Light. As we enter into the presence of God, we must ask Him to ARISE, ask Him to come, to meet us where we are, and in doing so His enemies will be scattered. That old western saying, there aint room for two sheriffs in this town. That is how God feels towards His Kingdom, we can't rightly say to the Father that we want Him, need Him, yet still have our foot holding open the door of the world to allow things of the world to infiltrate our Kingdom. There is no room for two sheriffs in God's kingdom, if you think you can run your own life and also have God guiding your steps, you will be quite surprised when God shakes you uncontrollably for acting so foolishly.
So, yeah I guess the main point is that my prayer for you is that you would allow God to challenge your thoughts and feelings about Him and His character. He is so much MORE, and deserves nothing less than our best offering of worship and sacrifice, our lives given wholly for His use, to be His hands and His feet. May God bless you in His manifestation of Himself in your life.
